Napoleon and the Best of Both Worlds Tour
I've been trying to capture this amazing up and coming star live for several weeks now. Unfortunately, I was only able to get this short clip. More soon I hope. I think you'll be just as enthusiastic about this girl's prospects as I am.

Chloe's April

So, my dear Miss Chloe has been "3 in a row" for just over a month now and I've already decided that I liked it immensely better when she was 2. I honestly feel like she's had an infusion of adolescent hormones this last month. Not that she wasn't opinionated before, of course, but nowadays she throws an absolute fit when she doesn't get her way. And, with Mama, that can be frequently. She has told me countless times in the last week that she just doesn't like me and is running away. We have daily battles over the way she [man]handles Colby and she is quickly befriending the window behind the timeout chair because I now make her sit facing the wall when she's in trouble. Then, after all the drama with me, Kenneth will get home and attempt to interact with her and she'll spurn him and start crying for me. Last week during one of her "I just don't like you, mom" fits, I had visions of Chloe as a teenager. I could really see her and I started to get really worried. Chloe is extremely smart and incredibly stubborn, but she also got her Dad's disdain for rules. The only way we're going to survive her teenage years is if we do our job now and equip her to make the right decisions on her own. I want her to hear our voices in her head and not run the other direction.
Really, I can see how so many people are just plain bad parents...It would be so much easier to give in to Chloe's tantrums most of the time. Luckily, I'm just as stubborn as she is.

Colby's April
Colby has had quite an April. So has Chloe for that matter, but that's a story for another time. Colby turned six months on April 2. Granted, many of you are probably curious about her first six months, but, for now, you'll have to be satisfied with a run down of her amazing accomplishments this month. And, quickly, too, since she's screaming in my ear right now. I just want to be able to post the [totally amateur] videos I took this morning. All this month, Colby has learned to crawl (she was actually army crawling for most of March, but she crawls on her knees now), sit up, pull herself up, and she just got her first tooth on Wednesday! She has blown Chloe out of the water as far as developmental feats are concerned. I honestly think it's because she fears for her life; her sister pretty much terrorizes her - all in the name of love. Here are two videos of her crawling and pulling herself up to standing. While I'm waiting for the darn video to upload (Colby is fast asleep now), I can share the news that Colby has dropped down to the 40th percentile in weight. For many babies this would not be cause for concern, but she started life in the 96th percentile and has dropped steadily our last couple visits to the doc. Basically, the doctor told us we need to start feeding Colby more solids and ensure that she gets at least 30 ounces of milk each day. He recognizes that she is way more active than most babies her age and wants to see if the extra calories will help to maintain her weight. Colby and I have to go back to the doctor during the first week of June to check her weight. Doc said he'll only be concerned if she has dropped to an even lower percentile. Really, the videos are taking forever to upload. At long last, here they are.
